Samantha is a person first – but “lawyer” is her chosen profession. She loves her job. Every client has their own unique story and problem to solve. She loves getting to know clients and being the one who stands up for them.

Prior to starting Upton Law, PLLC, Samantha represented clients in traffic and criminal cases as an associate and later a partner with another Richmond law firm. She decided to take that experience and use it to start a firm rooted in her own values: honesty, compassion, and personalization.

Samantha grew up in rural Virginia, figuring every kid bottle-fed calves, snapped beans, and dug up worms for fishing. Eventually, she left home to pursue her dream of being a Wahoo and graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in history. She then headed to University of Richmond with the A.D. Williams Law scholarship for law school.

Outside of work, she enjoys time with her husband, Charlie, and their two dogs – Winston (an Italian greyhound) and Tonka (a yellow lab). She loves history, reading, softball, Zumba, and karaoke. If you spot her outside the courthouse, you’ll most likely catch her enjoying an oversized plate of nachos at an RVA restaurant.
